Olov Schelén, Luleå University of Technology, Blockchains - technology, challenges and opportunities
Abstract: Blockchain technology is a hot topic and there are lots of innovative services proposed. There are now systems that have been running for some years and we can find reliable data on how they perform. This talk will reflect over some of these performance numbers, using a few established examples, and explain some technical concepts and reasons behind the numbers. The findings will be used to identify a few generic challenges and to identify a few sweet spots for this technology going forwards. Figuring out innovative applications will be left to the listeners after the talk.
